Sound Walk

We went on a sound walk today with Ms O Boyle Finnegan to Kilbogget Park to compare the sounds of the school, the local estate and the Park.

College Awareness Week

College Awareness ran from November 23rd to 29th. We looked at jobs we would like to have in the future and what courses we need to study. We made Student ID cards and Graduation caps.

Trips in November

We went on two trips in November.

Our first trip was to the National History Museum in the city centre. We even got a sneak peek at a real film set which they had set up there.

Our second trip was to the DLR Lexicon in Dun Laoghaire for Science Week.

Our First Assembly

At our first whole school Assembly 13 children received certificates for 100% attendance since September.

Jasmine Q won a Special Award from Mr Boyle.

Eva won an award for best Halloween Costume as Little Dead Riding Hood. You can see her costume below in our Halloween post!

Assembly Certificates

Congratulations to Evan Massey, Alana Byrne and Luke McDonald on receiving certificates for being helpful, hardworking and having a great attitude!

Dublin fever hits Scoil Cholmcille.

We've been busy in Scoil Cholmcille getting ready for the Dublin vs Kerry All Ireland Final. Mr Boyle had Mr Breathnach, Ms O Hanlon representing Dublin and Ms Lynch and Ms Cronin representing Kerry painted on the windows. There has been lots of pranks being played! We came in to find a Kerry flag on our whiteboard! We werent happy so we stuck a Go Dublin on Ms Cronin's door and made her a headband in Dublin colours. We made posters and headbands from wool. The boys all learnt how to plait!

Painting Autumn Trees

Painting Autumn Trees

We painted for the first time today. The children picked a type of tree sycamore, beech, horse chestnut or oak. They painted the leaves of the tree in autumnal colours red, yellow, orange and brown although we did end up with a few blue leaves by accident! They then painted a tree trunk, grass and sky on a separate page.

Tomorrow we will cut and stick our leaves on to our tree.
